JLL came to Digitas for strategy, IA, UX and to recreate their web branding. Prior to the project JLL recently redesigned
their brand, and our task was to take their brand and create them a new enhanced visual identity. We were tasked to
redesign their global website.

JLL is the commercial real estate company, with locations all over the globe. We needed to create a system that worked
globally since the content would be different for the region. The redesign started by mapping out there content structure
to create a component-based design. Working closely with UX we were able to understand the flow and the content to
design to.

Role: Was to lead the visual identity and to make sure that this was carried through all components and pages.

Style Guide

JLL had a brand new style guide created by the one and only Pentagram, But! This style guide was
intended and built for print materials. With it being such a beautiful brand I had allot to play with.
I had to leverage their band book and integrate it to the web. With the use of handwritten font,
Times New Roman and Source Sans the fonts really complimented each other. Pentagram also
developed brush patterns and brush textures that I was able to leverage to crop imagery and
created a modern look with type and imagery. I couldn’t go overboard with the brushes and
hand-written font so I had to figure out ways to keep them minimal.

Visual Design

JLL visuals needed to be clean and modern! Having a libray of amazing architecture, the use of
various cropping techniques and the combination of fonts the work really came together. I intended
to allow myself a lot of negative space because if this being rich with content. I wanted to design the site
in an editorial approach. One thing to note is that this is a component-based project so all the components
need to be designed to work with various types of content. But this also helped to keep a clean consistency
throughout the site design.
